Dabble DB® is a service provided by Smallthought Systems Inc., a company based in British Columbia, Canada. Our servers are also located in Canada.
- Is personal data protected in Canada?
We are subject to the Canadian Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act and the Personal Information Protection Act of the Province of British Columbia.
- Will anyone be able to see my data?
No. For paid and trial plans, your data can only be accessed by registered users in your application, unless you actively choose to make it public. The administrator of each application (i.e., you) controls registration of new users and what sort of access each user has.
For Dabble DB® Commons applications, your data is freely viewable by anyone.
- What about data transmitted over the Internet? Is it safe?

If you are concerned about sensitive data falling into the wrong hands, you should use the secure encryption we offer on all paid plans. This encryption ensures that data cannot be usefully intercepted in transit.
- How safe is your server?

Our servers are located in a secure environment. Standard encryption and security technologies are employed to prevent interference or access from outside intruders.
Only employees of Dabble DB® can access our servers, and they only have access to your data when you have expressly requested help or in the course of identifying and resolving problems with the Dabble DB® service.
All data that resides on our servers is archived regularly in the event of any malfunction that causes data loss.
- What happens to my data if I stop using Dabble?

You can export all of your data in several different formats if you wish to move it somewhere else. After you cancel your account, or three months after your trial expires, we will remove all of your data from our servers and from the archives. Although there may be some delay before this takes effect, please do not cancel your account unless you are prepared to lose your data immediately.

We don’t offer an on-site version of Dabble DB®, because we’re focused on providing the best hosted service we can. If your company has concerns about keeping data on our servers, please contact us to see if we can come up with a creative solution.
- Does Dabble DB® comply with HIPAA?
We cannot enter into any agreement above or beyond our existing privacy policy, and we cannot offer any guarantee about specific compliance with HIPAA or any applicable state law. It is the responsibility of the health care entity to determine whether Dabble DB® meets the requirements of HIPAA.
