Categories shared from other applications

Dabble DB allows you to share data between your Applications. To facilitate this, you tell one of your applications to re-use a category from another. (You need at least two applications to do this.)

How to add a shared category to an application

Go to the category configuration. Categories available for sharing from other applications will be listed on the side. Click any category to add it and all of its entries to the current application.

About shared data

When you add a shared category to your application, the application inherits all of the Entries that belong to that category. Any subsequent changes to the data in those entries will affect both applications. In most senses, a shared category acts exactly like a regular category. The exception to this is that if you delete a shared category from your application, it will not remove the entries since they will continue to exist in the original application.

Share data without changing the original entries

If you want to make changes to entries without affecting the original application, you should first copy the application and then share the category from the copied version rather than original.
