Edit column directly in table view

Normally, to edit Entries, you click a link to the entry in a view to open the entry editor, which appears below the view.

If you wish, you can edit a column of data directly in a Table view. This feature only applies to fields that are neither a Link to entry nor a List of entries. Additionally, you cannot edit columns showing Derived fields or Formulas.

How to activate column editing

  1. Click the header of the column you wish to edit to open its menu.
  2. Click Edit Column.

The view will reload with editing capabilities activated in that column. If the field contains text or numbers, you can type new values into each box as desired. For fields with Choice values or Dabble user values, there will be a drop-down selector allowing you to select a new value.

Saving changes

When using the Edit Column feature, you can click the Save button in the green section at the bottom of the view to ensure your changes take effect. However, in general, changes will be saved immediately as soon as you click away from a text field or make a selection in a drop-down menu.

How to de-activate column editing

  1. Click the header of the column you wish to edit to open its menu.
  2. Click Stop Editing.

Alternative to editing a column

If you wish to change several entries at once to all have the same value for a particular field, you might want to use the Set field value action.
