New entry

You can create a single new entry inside an application at any time by clicking the New Entry link in the upper-left corner.

The entry will take on the same characteristics as the entries shown in the current view, including any Categories and Field values specified by the Filters you have applied.

If you wish to create an entry in another category or with different field values, first create a new view in the category you desire.

Several other operations in Dabble result in new entries being created:

• When you Import data, entries are created for each row or record in the source data.

• If you duplicate entries, a new entry will be created for each original.

• While editing an entry, you can create new entries that are immediately added to Link to entry and List of entries fields.
  • For a link to entry with no value, click the New link to create a new entry and link it.
  • For a list of entries, click Add New (shown above the list) to create a new entry and add it to the list.
  • In either case, you will be immediately taken to the editor for the new entry. If you choose, you can change the field values of the new entry. Click Save and return to get back.

• If you change a text value field to a Link to entry or List of entries field, existing text in the field will be used to name a new entry or entries. This will occur for each entry that contains the field you’ve changed.
