Category filters

Category Filters limit the entries in a view to those in one or more categories.

When you create a New view, or navigate to a particular entry, the view will by default include one category filter, shown on the left. (If you remove this first category filter, the view will show all entries in your application regardless of category.)

It is possible to add additional category filters if any of the entries in the current view belong to two or more categories. The effect of adding a second category filter is to limit the view to entries that belong to both the first and second category.

The option to add additional category filters (if available), will appear below the existing filters. Select the category you wish to add as a filter from the drop-down menu and the view will update immediately. You can remove a category filter at any time by opening the filter’s adjacent menu and choosing Remove filter.

You can also change any filter to exclude matches. Assuming you have two category filters and change the second one to exclude, the effect will be to limit the view to entries that belong to the first category but not the second.

The number of category filters you can add is determined by the entry in the view which belongs to the most number of categories. For example, if a category belongs to seven categories at once then you can potentially add up to seven category filters.
