Exports
You can export, print, or share a view in order to use the data in a view outside of Dabble DB. You can only export a view once you save it. Exports will always remain in sync with the data in your application.
Dabble offers an extensive list of formats for export, although some formats only apply in certain circumstances. See below for the full list of export formats.
Making exports available to the public
If you want any export to be available to someone (or to a service) without a Dabble account, you need to ensure that you have enabled Allow public access to exports in the Sharing preferences for the application.
How to export a view
Once you have saved a view, click on the Export button just below the name of your saved view. The export window will open showing you a list of options.
Export formats
Click the title of your choice to retrieve that export format. Depending on the format you choose, your browser may open the export within the browser window, or download a file (for CSV files, for instance), or may open another application (such as a newsreader or calendar).
Also, below each option is the permanent, up-to-date URL to the data in the format of your choice. All export formats are always synchronized with your real data.
Dabble offers export formats for several different purposes.
Subscription formats
These formats allow you to “subscribe” to data in a newsreader (to be notified when data changes) or in a calendar application (to see events). They are only available if you have saved the view for permanent export.
- ICAL feed (only available if your view contains Date and time values)
Export formats
These formats are useful if you want to bring data from Dabble into another data-management program, spreadsheet or word processor. They are always available even if you are doing a temporary export.
Integration formats
These formats allow you to dynamically integrate your Dabble application with an external web site. They are only available if you have saved the view for permanent export.
Bookmarking an export
If you want to send a web page export to someone, or to bookmark a view, you can create a new Page from a saved view. Click the Share button and select “New Page…” where you will be shown the settings for Pages. Click the link to View page in new window. Copy and paste the address (URL) of the export window into another application, such as into an email.
