The locale settings control certain behavior in Dabble DB — in particular how the system treats dates, numbers and money.

To access the locale settings, you must be an administrator. Go to Administration and click the Locale Settings tab.

You can choose to localize Dabble DB to English or Spanish.

The time zone is used to calculate how dates and times are translated for different users. This is a global setting, so it should be set to the administrator’s time zone. Choose a continent or geographical area from the first drop-down menu, and then select the city closest to you in the second drop-down menu.

The default format for dates in Dabble is the American format of “Month day, year” (e.g. January 1, 2000). You can choose other formats to, for example, show the day first (e.g. 1 January 2000), or to show dates in a more compressed format (such as MM/DD/YY or YYYY-MM-DD).

The date format affects how dates are displayed; it also affects how Dabble interprets ambiguous numeric dates like 01/02/03.

• In “Month day, year” format, this would be interpreted as January 2, 2003
• In “Day month year” format, it would be interpreted as 1 February 2003.
• In “YYYY-MM-DD” format, it would be interpreted as 2001-02-03.

Normally, the calendar view's week begins on Sunday. You can select another day of the week to use instead.

By default, numbers in Dabble are formatted using American standards with commas separating every three digits and a period for the decimal.

You can choose another numeric format instead to, for example, switch the usage of the comma and period (as in many European countries).

You can choose what currency will be used for new money fields by default.
