By default, entries in a Table view are sorted alphabetically (from A to Z) by the entries’ names (the first column). You can choose to sort the entries differently by selecting a different column to use. (If the column you want to use for sorting is not visible, you must add it first.)
To change the sorting, click the header of the column you want to use to open the column menu. Move your mouse over Sort to reveal the submenu, and choose the order you want to sort — either first to last or last to first. What is “first” and “last” depends on what sort of data the column contains:
Once you have clicked your choice the view will reload with the new sort order. You can only use one column for sorting. Any new sorting choice will override the previous choice.
To restore the default order (alphabetical by entry names), open the Entries column menu and choose A-Z.
If you have grouped entries in your view, the sort order is applied separately to the entries in each group. The order in which the groups appear is normally from first to last (A to Z if the group names are text).
You can change both the group order and the order within each group by opening the Grouped Entries column menu and choosing the appropriate command. Each level of grouping will have its own Sort submenu, and there is a Sort within groups menu as well. Choosing Sort within groups from another column will change the order of the entries in each group.
